Featured Speaker – Douglas Weintraub, CEO, Bounce Innovation Hub

Doug Weintraub is best described as an active angel investor, serial entrepreneur, CEO and mentor. He is an industry leader with more than 30 years of business and entrepreneurial experience in Northeast Ohio.

As Bounce’s first CEO, Doug will set and maintain the innovation hub’s strategic vision and culture. He looks forward to focusing on startup-driven growth, supporting university tech transfer and boosting corporate innovation efforts. As CEO, he will help build significant and meaningful relationships with stakeholders, including corporations, entrepreneurs, universities, government agencies, startup hubs and investors.

Doug started his professional career as a computer consultant and certified public accountant at Coopers & Lybrand in 1982 in Columbus, Ohio. He returned to the Akron/Cleveland area to be involved with several ventures in the software and professional services space, as well as residential/commercial real estate development. Doug currently works with or has worked with more than a dozen for-profit companies either as a founder, investor, mentor, board member or advisor.

Doug served on the President’s Club Advisory Board of The Ohio State University, the Entrepreneurship Advisory Board for The Ohio State University Fisher School of Business and the Alumni Advisory Board of The Ohio State University. He was a member and served on the board of directors for North Coast Community Homes, as well as JumpStart. At JumpStart, Doug was a founder and board member, serving in several roles, since its inception. He first served as treasurer (2004-2006), then vice chair and treasurer (2006-2009) and, ultimately, as chairman (2009-2012). As well, Doug was instrumental in the creation of JumpStart’s formal mentor program and in assisting JumpStart’s portfolio, while continuing to serve on the board of directors.

Doug received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from The Ohio State University in 1982. Doug is a lifelong resident of Akron, where he lives with his wife Janis, who is also a graduate of The Ohio State University. They have three adult children and two grandchildren.
